An hour and a half of Arts & Crafts celebrating Chinese New Year.

Ages aimed at: 3 years-8 years

Come and celebrate ‘Chinese New Year’ with ‘Pumpkins Arts & Crafts’ for Children. Children will have a chance to decorate their very own Chinese Fans, Paper Lanterns, Dragon Key-rings, as well as Dragon masks and Puppets to take home and play with! There will be Zodiac Stamps to use on your Childs creations so if you would like to look up the animal that represents the year they were born, here is a link:

There will be a variety of mediums on offer for the Children to use to decorate, such as paint, pencils, stickers, sequins and of course sparkles and glitter!

Expressive Arts & Design is one of the specific areas of learning, as part of 'The Early Years Foundation Stage' (EYFS). Exploring, using media and materials helps Children stimulate critical thinking and imaginations, promoting vital skills.  As  well as the physical fine motor skills, Social skills are learnt, making relationships, communication with other Children, and learning about other Cultures and traditions around the World.

Using different materials can help a Child make their own decisions, focussing on their own ideas and how they are going to accomplish them, strengthening cognitive processes.
