Come round for supper! Very informal supper at my beautiful house in Brandeglio, a really lovely mountain village 20 minutes out of Bagni di Lucca. If it's warm we'll eat in the garden and watch the fireflies. So, we'll have a gin and tonic or some prosecco and then here's what we'll eat (though I might adjust the menu if I find something particularly nice): Salads to start: Persian orange, mint and chilli salad with a sweet olive oil and orange dressing. Fresh fig, fat mozzarella, fresh cut parma ham and my garden's mint with a lemony dressing. Then: Sticky garlic and lemon roast chicken with basil. Warm potato salad with spring onions and parsley, olive oil, mayonnaise and butter. A fresh, sharp green salad and/or maybe some very sweet tomatoes. Pudding!! A kind of syrupy and dense lemon and almond cake. I might put pistachios on top... with a spoonful of mascarpone. I'll also put some fresh fruit and ice cream out. Coffee! And that's it. Local wine included. I'm easy to find - drive out of Bagni di Lucca towards Abetone. After about 3km you'll see the right turn to Brandeglio. Come up to the village, past the bar on the left and take the right fork at the little car park. My house is on the left with a Vespa parked outside before you get to the square. It's big. It's pink.
