About Peer Rope Plymouth January 2025

Welcome to Peer Rope Plymouth!

Peer Rope Plymouth is a monthly event to allow a peer learning environment, catering for all levels and styles. The aim is to create a safe and friendly space for those who want to learn and for those who want to share their knowledge with others.

Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits will be included in the price of admission (including some dairy/gluten free).

As we build up a surplus of money over time we’ll invest in more safety shears, rope and potentially a second frame for suspensions. Some of the excess money may also be used to support other South West Rope events as appropriate.

Please note, you will also be asked to sign a register on arrival – this is so we can keep a count of attendees and also in case there is a fire (you are welcome to use a scene name as long as it isn’t explicit, or first name only).

How do I get to the venue?

There is parking within a couple of minutes walk (Elburton car park) and a bus service (2A) running to and from Plymouth city centre/the railway station.

What should I bring?

Please bring your own rope, safety shears and mats if possible (some shears, spare rope and mats will be available), along with any tying resources (books etc.) that you are happy to share during the event.

Is there anything I need to think about beforehand?

There will be a safety talk for all new attendees as the beginning of the class. There will be peer led tuition on beginner, intermediate and advanced ties for those that would find this helpful, or you are welcome to free tie if you would prefer.

What if I'm new/have never tied before/don't have a partner to tie with?

We will try to match people on the day if possible, although we obviously cannot guarantee this.

Are there frames for partials/suspensions?

We do have access to a frame for potential partial/full suspensions in future. This will be restricted based on people’s experience levels and abilities.

What if I want to show a tie?

We positively encourage your involvement and so if you have a tie you want to share with the group then contact a member of the crew prior to the event.

Event Terms & Conditions

You must be at least 18 years old to attend this event.

You are responsible for your own Safety and the safety of your equipment.

Consent is not to be assumed. Ensure you agree mutual consent prior to touching or tying another member. Any breach of consent or intentional harm will be treated seriously.

All riggers are to have safety shears or a rope cutting tool to hand. There are to be NO open blades.

Crew members reserve the right to intervene on the grounds of safety and wellbeing.

NO Ropes are to be placed around the front of the neck or Throat. Use appropriate ties around the neck for a Hogtie, such as the "Politically correct" versions and we will be showing these.

If you see something you consider unsafe, or you are distressed in any way, then inform a crew member.

The Event "Safeword" is "STOP". Anyone at the event can use this in the event of emergency, distress, or if they need to stop a tie for any reason.

Be polite and respectful to each other. Please do not interfere, intrude or pass comments on other people's ties, rope work or rope scene, unless invited to do so, by said individuals.

Your ties, preferences and knots are your preferences, others may have their own, for their own reasons! If the application is safe, that is fine and acceptable.

Due to the nature of the venue, this is a strictly VANILLA event. We are a community 'Rope Art' group. Keep any Kink discussions to within the studio only. This is NOT a play event - leave your toys at home and keep your clothes on!

No alcohol or mind altering drugs. If anyone is believed to be under the influence of either then they will be asked to leave.

Crew members reserve the right to refuse admittance.

Photography

There is to be no filming or photography of any tuition.

Photographs may be taken of your own work, but all endeavours must be made to exclude any other attendees from the captured image.

We will have a designated photo area to use to assist in this matter.
Where this is not possible, then consent must be obtained from any persons who may be captured in the image.

Anyone believed to be deliberately photographing others without consent, will be asked to delete any such images and instructed to leave.

Failure to adhere to these rules will result in a blanket ban on photography.
