This Course is for 10 weeks starting 19th Sep 7pm - 9pm.                          

There will be a break for half term after 5 weeks and the course will commence.

This price is for the whole course price.

Pettra is a bubbly British Sign Language Tutor and also works as an Interpreter in the Deaf Community. She is passionate about Deaf Awareness and communication. Pettra delivers a ‘hands on’, energetic learning experience for all ages.

Course details

The purpose of this course is to enable students to communicate using British Sign Language (BSL) at a beginner level.  The course will focus on interaction and basic conversation skills.

Throughout the duration of the course, learners will be taught:

Fingerspelling, Numbers, Colours, Deaf Awareness, Introductions, Family, Emotions, Time, Food & Drink and Conversation.
 

Suitability

Suitable for anyone with an interest in learning a visual

Communication language.

Learning Outcomes

The learning outcomes for this course will be negotiated with

your tutor in the first class.

Teaching Method

You will learn through a variety of teaching methods which

include: demonstration, Individual 121 and practical ‘hands on’

experience.

Accreditations/Qualifications: Certificate of Attendance and Participation

Progression Route: Progression course  towards Level 1

Extra Hours Required

Learners are required to complete up to 2 hours work each week outside of the lesson.
