About The Crooks Saxes & Deac Rossell present A Programme of Early Animation accompanied by the Sounds of Saxophones in support of The Cinema Museum
Back by popular demand after our debut sell out last year – join us for a unique evening of early animation combined with live saxophonic sound tracks!
Deac Rossell will be presenting 7 short early animations from pioneering studios, including Vitagraph, Pat Sullivan, Bray, Disney, Comicolor & the GPO film unit.
The Crooks Saxes will be playing unexpected soundtracks for the films, as well as playing a brief selection of iconic music from animated films & TV shows over the years.
All profits from this event will go to The Cinema Museum.
Deac Rossell is an early cinema expert who has fronted contemporary musicians accompanying silent films at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the National Film Theatre (as was), London, and other venues.
The Crooks Saxes are a South London based saxophone quartet. We have played all over London at indoor and outdoor venues, public events and private parties. Follow them on Twitter.
Doors open at 16.00, for a 17.00 start.
The performance will be 2 hours long including a break and the bar will stay open after the performance.
Refreshments will be available in our licensed cafe/bar.
