About Celebrating Bukharian Jewry with Ruben Shimonov, Scholar and Artist in Residence
Honoring the legacy of Ray Maisel, a Bukharian Jew who served as a lay leader at Adat Shalom for decades. Our inaugural “Global Jewish Diversity Shabbat” will feature scholar and artist Ruben Shimonov. Born in Uzbekistan, Ruben is an educator, community builder, and social entrepreneur with a passion for Jewish diversity and cross-cultural understanding. He has spoken around the world on the history and culture of Sephardic and Mizrahi communities.
