A wild, camp homage to Thai melodramas and action films of the ’60s and ’70s, this underground favorite stars Michael Shaowanasai as the cross-dressing super-agent Iron Pussy — a spy, a lover, and a musical performer rolled into one. With choreographed fights, karaoke interludes, and outrageous costumes, the film revels in parody while reclaiming the pleasures of popular cinema for queer performance. Co-directed by Apichatpong before his Palme d’Or fame, it’s a delirious celebration of genre, gender play, and pure cinematic joy.
