The London East Asia Film Festival season of films presented at The Cinema Museum continues with the Taiwanese romantic comedy Good Bye! Darling (1970), directed by Pai Ching-jui.
Amid Taiwan’s swinging 1960s, a playboy’s carefree romance collides with the deeper emotions of the women he charms. Satire and melancholy mingle as youthful love faces the costs of modern life and fleeting desire. Pai Ching-jui turns a light-hearted romantic surface into sharp social observation.
