About The Openwork Foundation Charity Golf Day

On behalf of The Openwork Partnership, we invite you to join us for a charity golf day at Royal Belfast, on Thursday 25th June 2026.   

Founded in 1881, The Royal Belfast Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Ireland.

The present course dates back to 1925, when responsibility for the course design and layout at the present location was given to Harry S. Colt, one of the world’s leading course designers of the day. With the assistance of Walker Cup player W.A. Murray, Colt produced a course of great charm which provides a true test of golfing skill and enjoys one of the most scenic settings of any in these islands with its unrivalled views of Belfast Lough and the Antrim plateau beyond.

The course remains much the same today as it was then, a tribute to the enduring excellence of its original design, always meticulously maintained with impeccable greens and groves of rhododendrons and gorse providing a colourful backdrop in spring. Visiting players are always warmly welcome to enjoy a real slice of history.

Regardless of how your round of golf goes, the most important thing is everyone enjoys a great day out, catches up with some old friends/make some new and help to raise a good sum for The Openwork Foundation!!!

Structure of the day 

10.30 am Registration, Tea, Coffee & Breakfast Rolls  

The first tee off time will be at 11.30 am, latest tee off time will be determined once final numbers are known (your own specific tee off time will be confirmed in the week’s leading up to the event) 

Two course buffet Lunch once you finish your round 

Prizegiving will take place shortly after the final of group of players finish their round – prizes for winning/top players, nearest the pin and longest drive  

Your £115 ticket includes: 

Your breakfast roll with tea or coffee on arrival, your game of golf on the Championship course, your two-course buffet lunch and a £25 donation per player to The Openwork Foundation
