Join us at The Pickle for an Introduction to Fermentation and Pickling!
On Sunday 1st March 2026, we’re turning The Pickle into a fermentation playground! We’ll be running two hands-on workshops throughout the day — with only 10 spaces per class — and the café will be closed to the public for this special event.
Expect good tunes, great coffee, and plenty of cabbage scrunching fun as we dive into the world of kimchi, kraut, pickles, and kombucha. You’ll learn the basics of fermentation science and the simple methods we use to create our house-made ferments here at the pickle.
Each participant will make and take home 4 x 1L jars — kimchi, sauerkraut, pickles, and kombucha — plus your own scoby, all customised to your taste. Choose your own flavours, follow our tried-and-tested recipes, and ask any questions about your own fermentation journey.
If you are buying a ticket, please bring a bag for life or a tote to carry your jars home!

Full payment is required to secure your spot.
Cancellations made 7+ days before the event are refundable; within 7 days, tickets are non-refundable unless we fill your place.
If we cancel or postpone, you’ll be offered a full refund or a new date.
All ingredients and equipment are provided — you’ll take home 1L each of kimchi, sauerkraut, pickles & kombucha.
Please tell us about any allergies before the workshop. You’re responsible for safe storage and consumption of your ferments after the event.
The café is closed to the public for this event — enjoy the exclusive experience!
