About Film: Women and Cocaine presents Girls About Town (1931)
Directed by George Cukor, and starring Kay Francis and Lilyan Tashman, this fabulous romcom follows Wanda and Marie, two glamorous New York showgirls, who make their living escorting wealthy out-of-town businessmen. Draped in furs and jewels, through champagne-soaked nights of luxury, the women treat romance as a transaction, until Wanda grows weary of the empty, gilded life and falls for the cash-poor Jim.
The film will be preceded by a short introduction, and followed by a raffle.
Seating is unallocated. Service dogs welcome. Unfortunately, this film screening does not have closed captions or audio description available.
