'Life Drawing...with Indy Arts'

is for anyone of any creative experience or interest to enjoy - beginners to more experienced makers are all welcome! The session is not tutored however you are guided through a series of making prompts at the beginning of each part. You can then use these methods throughout the session for your making or let your own creative flow take over. 

Statement from Indy:

"I think many people avoid life drawing as they feel they don't have the skills to acurately draw the human body, but that doesnt matter. Life Drawing encourages us to be still in our mind and present in that very moment, recording what we see in front of us - it doesn't matter how acurately you draw the models body. To me, it's not about creative skills, it's all about enjoying the drawing process in an inclusive and peaceful environment. No matter what your creative experience you can enjoy engaging with a life drawing session. "

Schduele of the session:

Part one: (1.5 hour: 45 mins of modelling - 15 min break - 30 mins of modelling)

You will be drawing from a professional life model who will strike a sequence of different, timed poses from quick fire to 15 minutes. For this part you will be focusing on line and form using materials such as charcoal, fine liner pens, felt tip pens and pastels.

Part two: (30 mins) 

An opportunity to add colours and texture to your life drawings. In this part, the model is no longer present. Working with acrylic paint and collage, you will be prompted to add to your orginal creations or to create a new piece inspired by them. 

Please note / housekeeping: 

!During the session it is intergral that we respect the privacy of our model! 

You can of course dip in and out of the session, e.g should you wish to nip out for a wee breather, to use the loo, to order a drink or pizza etc but you must be mindful of the space ensuring that the door is closed properly behind you. I reccommend, when possible, that food and drink purchases are made before the session begins or during the breaks which you can then enjoy as you draw.

No photographs to be taken by participants throughout the session. 

Information about the session and venue:

• Materials: All materials are provided for the session but please feel free to bring your own along if you have a preferred medium. 
• Modelling: The modelling will begin promptly at 7pm, please arrive for 6.45pm to get yourself settled with a drink and a seat. 
• Food and Drinks: Alcoholic and soft drinks are available to purchase from the WPHI bar aswell as Neapolitan pizza from their pizza kitchen. You are welcome to eat and drink throughout the creative session as you please. 
• Accessibility: The session takes place in the main hall of Withy Public Hall which is accessible. Most of the tables are set up in a way that can be comfortable for you if you are a wheelchair user but please do drop me a wee email or instagram message (email: indyartsmcr@gmail.com, instagram @indy__arts) with any access needs you may have so that I can ensure I reserve a comfortable spot for you. Please note, there is a toilet on the ground floor of WPHI but unfortunately it is not fully accessible. 
• Set Up: The room is set up with tables, some with benches and some with chairs. The places are set in bench tables of three (chairs available upon request for access needs if you're with a group of this size) and then tables with two chairs or singlular tables. Seating is on a first come first seated basis! If you are a group that have booked altogether, under one name, I can see the group size on my Ticketlab account and can therefore keep this in mind during set up and I will try my very best to seat you altogether but unfortunately it is not guaranteed.
