About WildWays Along the Ching: Medicinal Plants

How do food growers think about their wider ecosystem? How can community gardening support the river Ching? What's the relationship between our health and the river's health?

Join this workshop hosted at The Reapers Community Garden led by herbalists from the Community Apothecary.

The workshop is open to anyone with an interest in herbs, community medicine and biodiversity, no prior experience needed.

  • To reach the site, navigate via maps to E4 8YJ, the entrance to the allotment is opposite the Burnside School.

  • The site is step-free. The facilitators will make the workshop as adaptable as possible based on the needs of the group, and they will both be on hand to provide any extra support. The plan is to have interactive activities woven into the theoretical/sit down element of the workshop. The workshop will take place around a table, and there will be chairs to sit down for the workshop theory component. No practical elements will be overly physical and will be up to attendees whether they can/feel able to participate in these.

  • There will be tea, coffee and water on hand (people might want to bring their own water bottles and these can be re-filled in the clubhouse sink)

  • Please bring weather appropriate clothing and a hat in case it's sunny, suncream will be available, and obviously any note taking materials that might help you (paper, pen, laptop).

This workshop is organised in partnership with OrganicLea, the Waltham Forest Food Growers Network, the London Borough of Waltham Forest and the Greater London Authority via the Green Roots Fund.
