About Films at The Trades: Everyday Stories of Colossal Importance
Films at The Trades: Everyday Stories of Colossal Importance
Join us for our second short film showcase celebrating exceptional filmmakers with deep roots in Walthamstow. This edition spans experimental visions, community history, and intimate animation.
Discover Fletch Fletch’s Red Raw Reels, a sharp, anarchic reimagining of local advertising, and My Paper Bag Life, artist Charlotte Bracegirdle’s moving, animated debut exploring the vital power of imagination. Finally, we revisit Sarah Mace Dennis’s Everyday Stories of Colossal Importance, a landmark community project capturing lost identity and local connection.
The screenings will be followed by a live Q&A with the artists, alongside atmospheric music interludes provided by Dean Branigan. Come and connect with these imaginative reflections on contemporary life in Walthamstow. Tickets are limited—book yours today.
ACCESS
All of us at the Walthamstow Trades Hall welcome those who may require accessibility assistance and will do our best to ensure the best possible service for all customers.
The building is on a hill. At the main entrance to the Trades Hall there is a ramp with a gradient. This entrance has two entry doors, one after the other, leading into the foyer. If you do require assistance please email info@tradese17.com stating your expected time of arrival and we’ll ensure entry is as smooth as possible.
Our main hall is a large space with carpet and a hardwood dance floor and the main circulation route should be free from trip hazards and obstructions. A room for storing mobility aids is available.
Unfortunately our upstairs bar is not currently wheelchair accessible. There is a staircase with 16 stairs and bannisters on both sides.
If you are unable to stand for long periods we will be able to reserve a seated space for you. We have chairs with padded backs and wooden armrests. There are also banquettes on both sides of the room which are close to the stage with unimpeded sight lines. If you would like a chair or additional space reserved for you, email info@tradese17.com
Assistance dogs are usually allowed into the venue depending on the type of event.
HIDDEN DISABILITIES
We understand that a hidden disability is not immediately apparent. If you would like support or advice please contact us in advance with your questions to info@tradese17.com
