About Tog Fàire + Cara Elin @ The Folklore Rooms, Brighton
Join us for an evening of Scottish, Irish & Welsh traditional folk music!
**Due to illness, we have had a change of lineup**
Tog Fàire
Simon Stallard is a flautist, prize-winning Scottish Gaelic singer and music researcher with a background in the Scottish and Irish traditions. Jake Tweddle is a contemporary guitarist and arranger, always in high demand both on stage and in the studio. As a duo they’ve found their stride, performing fiery reimagined sets with a contemporary spin, alongside longing and beautiful airs and songs. Whether they’re playing toe-tapping tunes by modern composers at the heart of the living Scottish folk scene, or ancient melodies that can be traced back centuries, they love the stories behind this music and it’s roots, whether old or new.
Cara Elin is a whimsical whirlwind from South Wales. Her sound ranges from traditional celtic folk to lighthearted country twiddles. Through song, she brings to life the tall tales of the Mabinogion, painting pictures of misty mountain tops and tylwyth teg.
