An exploration and celebration of under the radar cult guerilla Hounslow film director Jan Manthey and his Producer Fred Karno.
In this unique, entertaining new show Jan Manthey will take you through the Ups and Downs of his career as a no budget film director, whose work is beyond cult. Jan thought it was high time he celebrated his own film making genius, in the absence of anyone else doing it. The independent spirit of filmmakers like Ed D Wood, Orson Welles, Lloyd Kaufman and John Waters surges throughout Jan’s work to create his own crazy vision. This is a celebration of unknown filmmakers the world over.
Expect tales of low budget movie madness and clips galore, including a rare double bill screening of the Saucy classics Can You Keep It Up With This That And The Other For A Week? and Adventures Of A Plumber In Outer Space. There will be a Q & A and a chance to meet some of the renowned stock company of actors from the world of KinoKarno. Hosted by renowned film scholar Pete Shovlin in the unique surroundings of the Horse Hospital, home of the Underground and Avantgarde.
