This special screening will be presented by Chris Lewis, son of Jerry Lewis and president of the American Wheelchair Mission. It will be followed by a Q&A.

More than a decade before his directorial debut, The Bellboy (1960), Jerry Lewis had already begun writing and directing his close friends in a series of
16mm home movie productions, complete with synchronised sound and professional acting.

This programme offers a whistle-stop tour of highlights from these home movie productions, including the full films An Eye For An Eye and Fairfax Avenue, excerpts from parties and premieres at Lewis’s Pacific Palisades home, and more.

Before the screening, Chris Lewis will be signing copies of his book Jerry Lewis on Being a Person. A selection of ‘Save The Cinema Museum’ supporter ticket options, including a pre-show book signing and The Nutty Professor posters (each signed by Jerry Lewis and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity), are available to buy in advance and on the night. All proceeds from sales of books and posters will support The Cinema Museum’s campaign to secure its permanent home.
