About Phantom of the Paradise (1974) Presented by Some New Kind of Kick
Directed by Brian De Palma.
Faust, The Phantom of the Opera, The Picture of Dorian Grey are Frankensteined together by completely sane genius De Palma.
Doo Wop, Surf, a grotesque based on Phil Spector, a Prison break, Glam rock and a pact with the Devil, This film really has it all. Like so many cult favourites it was judged a bomb on release, but time has been kinder, cherishing this visionary phantasmagoria.
Doors 6.30, 7.30 the lights fall and the Phantom’s abroad!
