We’re excited to welcome Lou Beckerman to our series of intimate events. Lou is an established jazz vocalist and songwriter. Her work in music has included TV and two albums:
‘My Gift to You’ - music for healing and wellbeing, and the jazz influenced ‘Into the Blue’.
She has played in venues across the UK and in the USA.

Lou’s career has also embraced community choir leadership and ground-breaking work in music as medicine, recognised with a Churchill Fellowship.

Once called ‘Renaissance Woman’ - for good reason, Lou is also a writer and poet, illustrator and fine artist, with her work having been exhibited widely, including in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Her 2023 illustrated poetry collection, ‘Welcome to the Now’ showcases her gift for weaving words together, exploring themes that range from the playful to the deeply reflective, and drawing on the colourful threads from her experience and enquiry into the human condition. She has a playfulness with words but beneath them invariably lie life’s deeper issues.

At the heart of Lou's work has always been her passion for the arts and her delight in performing for audiences, with a reputation for adding a warm atmosphere and vibrancy to an event. So expect to be taken on a journey with songs, poems, and stories. And available to peruse and purchase will be original artwork and illustrations from her book.
