Three Somerset Churches

We are visiting these three Somerset churches between Bath and Frome :
St Mary’s, Laverton : The church was built in the 11th century and restored in the 15th and 19th centuries.[1] Surviving parts of the Norman structure include the entrance arch and pillars.
All Saints, Lullington : The earliest parts of this church date back to the 12th century, while the south aisle dates to around 1280, and the chancel, tower and south porch to circa 1450. The church was restored in 1862 by Thomas Henry Wyatt and is now a Grade I listed building.
St George's, Beckington : The church is at least Norman in origin, with possibly a previous Saxon past. The diagonally buttressed four stage tower is broadly unaltered from the Norman period. A number of alterations have occurred over the years, such as in the early 17th century, when it gained a Jacobean screen and communion table.

Meeting time and place.
Meet at 2pm at St Mary’s Church, Laverton. Follow A36 south from Bath to Woolverton. Then turn 1st right to Laverton after passing the Red Lion pub. Satnav : BA2 7QZ
Car-parking is limited at all churches so please make arrangements for car-sharing if at all possible.
