About Facing The Music

This one-night-only event tells the story of our neighbour Marcus Decker: the brave climate defender who climbed the QE2 Bridge to demand our government halt new oil and gas licenses and who subsequently received a 2 year 7 months prison sentence. With Marcus on guitar, narration by Juliet Stevenson and a band of guest musicians this show will feature the songs Marcus has written, those written about him and music which has inspired him on his journey: the journey which took him sailing across the Atlantic; studying singing in Budapest; giving climate talks in Aotearoa New Zealand; meeting his partner local musician Holly Cullen-Davies; becoming a step-dad and ultimately climbing the Dartford Crossing in 2022 resulting in a 2 year 7 month prison sentence plus a deportation order. Come and hear how Marcus is Facing The Music. How we all must Face The Music. By quite literally listening to music. All proceeds go towards the legal fees to fight Marcus's deportation in court.
Doors 6:30pm, show 7:30pm
